This policy explains what personal information WhizHive collects, why we collect it and what you can do about it. If anything is unclear, contact us.
Who we are
WhizHive runs the WhizHive online shop at whizhive.store. In this policy, "we" and "us" mean WhizHive.
Information we collect
When you place an order
Your name, phone number, delivery address and city, your email address if you give one, the products you buy, your payment method, and any promo code, referral discount or Honey you use. We also note the internet (IP) address the order was placed from.
When you create an account
Your name, email address, phone number (optional), password and any delivery addresses you save. Your password is stored as a secure one-way hash, so nobody at WhizHive can read it.
When you sign in with Google
If you choose Sign in with Google, Google tells us your name, your email address, the fact that Google has confirmed that address belongs to you, your profile picture, and an account number Google uses to identify you. That is all we ask for and all we receive — we never see your Google password, and we cannot read your Gmail, your contacts, your Drive or anything else in your Google account.
We use it only to create your account and sign you in. An account made this way has no password at WhizHive until you set one in your account, and you can set one at any time if you'd rather sign in with an email and password instead.
If you sign in with Google using the same email address as an account you already have here, we join the two together so that either way of signing in reaches the same account, your orders and your Honey. We only do this because Google has confirmed the address is yours.
When you contact us or use our shopping tools
- Messages you send through the contact form, with the name, email address or phone number you give
- Product requests and product suggestions, including links and photos you upload
- Conversations with Whizy, our shopping assistant, and any feedback or reports you send about its answers
Automatically
- A session cookie that keeps your cart and sign-in working — see our cookie policy
- Which products are viewed, counted once per visit, so we can show what's trending
- Your IP address, which we store only in scrambled (hashed) form, to limit spam and prevent referral and reward fraud. The one exception is the address an order was placed from, which we keep with the order to help us spot fake orders
- When you visit from or interact with our Facebook and Instagram ads: which pages you view and actions such as registering, adding to cart and ordering — see *Meta (Facebook and Instagram)* below
How we use your information
- To confirm, prepare, deliver and support your orders, including calling you about them
- To run your account, saved addresses, Honey rewards, referrals, requests and suggestions
- To answer your messages
- To send emails about your orders and account, such as order updates and password resets
- To send occasional offers — tell us if you'd rather not receive them and we'll stop
- To protect our shop and our customers from fraud and abuse
- To understand what customers want, so we can stock better products
Who we share it with
We don't sell your personal information. We share only what's needed with:
- Suppliers and fulfilment partners who prepare and pack your order
- Delivery companies, who receive your name, phone number and address to bring you your parcel
- Fraud-prevention services: before we confirm an order, we check its phone number with a service that shows how many parcels that number has received or returned with courier companies in Bangladesh, and look up the rough location of the order's IP address. Only the phone number and the IP address are sent, and we use the answers only to decide whether to confirm the order or call you first.
- Payment providers such as bKash or Nagad, when you pay with them
- Google, if you use Sign in with Google. Signing in tells Google you have signed in to WhizHive, and Google's own privacy policy covers what they do with that. We do not send Google your orders, your address or anything you buy.
- Meta (Facebook and Instagram), which runs our ads. The Meta Pixel on our website and Meta's Conversions API tell Meta when someone views a product, registers, adds to cart or places an order (on our website, or with us by message, phone or in person), and later whether the order was confirmed, delivered or cancelled, with the order value. If you've ordered or signed in on a browser, your later visits from it are matched the same way for 90 days (signing out stops this). Your email address, phone number, name and city are scrambled (hashed) before we send them, so Meta can only match them to an account it already knows; the internet address of a website visit or order is sent as it is. Meta uses this to measure our ads and show them to people likely to be interested. You can control this in your Facebook and Instagram ad settings (*Ad preferences*).
- Service providers who host our website, send our emails and power Whizy's replies. Chat messages are processed by an AI service to write answers, so please don't share passwords or payment details in the chat.
- Authorities, when the law requires it
How long we keep it
- Order records: for as long as we need them for accounting, tax and legal reasons
- Your account and saved addresses: until you ask us to delete your account
- Messages, requests, suggestions and chats: for as long as they help us serve you and improve the shop — you can ask us to delete them
How we protect it
Passwords are stored as hashes, every form on the website is protected against forged submissions, and only authorised staff can see customer information. No website is completely secure, so please keep your password private.
Your choices
- See and update your details and saved addresses at any time in your account.
- Ask us for a copy of your information, or to correct or delete it, through the contact page. We may need to keep some order records where the law requires it.
- If you signed in with Google, you can set a password in your account and use that instead, and you can disconnect WhizHive from your Google account at any time in your Google settings.
- You can always check out as a guest if you don't want an account.
Children
Our shop is meant for adults. If you're under 18, please shop with a parent's or guardian's permission.
